Teen Innovators Challenge.
An annual open competition for young Nigerians aged 13 to 22. Entry is completely free. Submit your idea, your proposal, and your thinking. Reviewers screen the entries and shortlist the top 20. Those 20 develop their projects through the programme and submit a final version by October. Judges score those submissions and the top 10 present live at the Grand Finale. TIC alumni are prioritised for TIA, the structured accelerator that takes the work further.
How TIC works
TIC is an annual open competition for young people aged 13 to 22. Participants submit a written proposal plus optional supporting materials: a prototype, video, sketches, or slides. Applications go through two rounds. In Round 1, a panel of reviewers screens all entries and shortlists the top 20. Those 20 attend orientation, work with mentors, and submit a developed final project by October. In Round 2, a panel of judges scores those final submissions. The top 10 become finalists and present live at the Grand Finale.
Prize pool
- Grand Prize — ₦200,000 in cash
- 2nd Place — ₦100,000
- 3rd Place — ₦50,000
- All finalists — accelerator access (TIA cohort)
The problems TIC asks participants to solve are real. There is no textbook answer. Past finalists have built civic-tech platforms for reporting blocked drains in Lagos, proposed electoral transparency systems, designed inclusion programmes for students with disabilities, and developed health tools for girls in under-resourced schools. The work produced, and the thinking behind it, belongs to the person who built it. ATTP exists to make sure that thinking gets seen.

TIC is where ATTP finds the talent. The strongest performers at each TIC are prioritised for TIA, the structured accelerator where the work continues over several weeks with facilitators and a graduation day. Applications for TIC open when the challenge launches each year. In the meantime, Launchpad briefs are open to all, with no application and no cohort place required.
