Build the Digital Infrastructure for Grassroots Football Development in Nigeria
Nigeria's football talent starts on dusty pitches in Aba and Kano. The development pathway from those pitches to the Super Eagles is broken. Design the digital infrastructure that repairs it.
Closes 10 Sept 2026
The brief
Nigerian grassroots football lacks the organisational infrastructure to develop talent systematically. Local coaches have no qualification pathways, no access to training material, no system to record player development, and no pathway to connect their best players with professional scouts. The Super Eagles' talent base depends on individual luck — a scout seeing the right player on the right day — rather than a system that surfaces talent consistently.
Your challenge is to design a digital grassroots football development infrastructure that connects local coaches, academy players, and professional scouts. It must include a coach development and qualification platform, a player profile and development tracking system, a scout access portal, and a match and tournament management tool. The system must work with basic smartphones and unreliable internet.
Submit a platform design document (max 12 pages) including: coach development platform design, player profile and tracking system, scout access and search design, match and tournament management, offline functionality, partnerships with NFF and state football associations, and a plan to register 10,000 coaches and 100,000 players within 18 months.
Judging criteria: 35% coach development platform quality, 30% player tracking and scout access design, 20% offline functionality and accessibility, 15% NFF partnership and deployment plan.
