What Would You Build With $30?
Design the leanest possible product — one that solves a real problem you have personally experienced, built within a $30 budget. No padding, no features you do not need. Just the thing that works.
Closes 30 Sept 2026
The brief
The rules are simple.
You have $30. That is it. You can spend it on anything — a domain, hosting, a tool subscription, printing costs, a stall at a market, materials, API credits. But every naira of that $30 must go toward making your idea real and getting it in front of people who need it.
The problem you solve must be one you have lived. Not one you read about, not one you think other people have. Something you have personally experienced — in your household, your school, your street, or your community.
Here is what we want to know:
What is the problem? Describe it in plain language. Who has it, and how do you know?
What would you build? Not the full product — the first version that proves the idea works. The version someone can actually use.
How would you spend the $30? Break it down and be specific. A domain ($10). Two months of hosting ($8). A tool subscription ($7). A print run of 20 flyers ($5). Whatever it takes to ship.
Why this, and why now? What about this problem will not wait?
You do not need to have built it yet to submit. This challenge is about the thinking — the problem you pick, the sharpness of your solution, and whether you understand what it truly takes to launch something with almost nothing.
The constraint is the point. When you cannot hide behind features or funding, you are forced to know exactly what your idea is.
AI tools are encouraged. Use Claude, ChatGPT, Bolt, Canva, or whatever helps you think faster and build smarter. The goal is not to prove you can do it the hard way. The goal is to ship.
