The brief

WHAT YOU ARE MAKING A simple brand starter kit for one small business you can speak to directly. The kit should help customers understand what the business sells, who it is for and why they should trust it. START HERE Interview the owner and three current or potential customers. Review the business's existing name, message and sales materials. Identify the biggest source of confusion. YOUR SUBMISSION Provide a one-sentence positioning statement, a short customer profile, a basic visual direction, three reusable social templates and a before-and-after explanation. You do not need to redesign everything. KEEP IT SAFE AND HONEST Get the owner's permission before publishing their name, logo, sales figures or photographs. Use only fonts and images the business has permission to use. GOOD WORK LOOKS LIKE The owner can reuse the materials, customers understand the offer more quickly, and every design choice connects to something you learned from research.
