The brief

WHAT YOU ARE MAKING A small collection and referral plan for unwanted phones, chargers, laptops or other electronics in one school, estate or neighbourhood. The pilot must connect items to a legitimate repair, reuse or recycling route. START HERE Map what people currently do with broken electronics. Speak to residents and at least one repairer or recycler. Check what items a potential receiving organisation actually accepts. YOUR SUBMISSION Provide the local system map, a collection plan, public instructions, the proposed receiving partner, a safety checklist and a simple measure of items collected, repaired, reused or referred. KEEP IT SAFE AND HONEST Do not dismantle devices, batteries or screens. Do not handle leaking or damaged batteries. Do not promise recycling without confirming the receiving organisation and its process. GOOD WORK LOOKS LIKE The route from owner to responsible receiver is clear, participants know what is accepted, and the pilot can be tested without exposing anyone to hazardous material.
