Build Nigeria's University Esports League Infrastructure
Nigeria has over 200 universities and over 1 million gaming-age students. There is no organised university esports league. Design the infrastructure to build one.
Closes 10 Sept 2026
The brief
South Korea, the US, and increasingly Brazil have university esports leagues that serve as talent pipelines for professional gaming. Nigerian universities have gaming communities but they are informal, self-funded, and invisible to the global esports industry. The talent is there. The competition structure, the sponsorship model, and the pathway to professional play are not.
Your challenge is to design a national university esports league for Nigeria. It must be playable across the full range of Nigerian university internet infrastructure (including those with poor connectivity), include at least three game titles, create a clear pathway from university competition to professional esports, and be financially sustainable through sponsorship and event revenue without relying on university funding.
Submit a league design and business model document (max 12 pages) including: the competition structure, game title selection rationale, technology requirements and how poor connectivity is handled, sponsorship strategy, player pathway to professional play, and a launch plan for 40 universities in the first season.
Judging criteria: 35% league design and competitive format, 30% business model and sponsorship strategy, 20% connectivity and access design, 15% professional pathway.
