The brief

WHAT YOU ARE MAKING A playable paper or digital prototype inspired by a Nigerian or West African story, character, place or tradition. Focus on one mechanic and one short experience rather than a complete commercial game. START HERE Research the source through credible books, archives or a knowledgeable person. Record where the story comes from, whose version you are using and what you changed for the game. YOUR SUBMISSION Share the playable prototype, a one-page rules sheet, your source notes, visual references you have permission to use and feedback from at least three play-testers. KEEP IT SAFE AND HONEST Treat sacred, living and community-owned traditions with care. Do not present one version as the only correct version. Do not copy characters or artwork from an existing game. GOOD WORK LOOKS LIKE The game is understandable without a long explanation, the cultural source is credited, and play-testing led to a visible change.
