Why this work matters
A generation of young Africans who know their name.
Too many young Africans spend their most formative years in an identity vacuum, surrounded by noise about who they should become, with very little help figuring out who they already are. ATTP exists to close that gap.
The work is not motivational. It is practical. Cohort members leave with projects they built, problems they tackled, and a portfolio that tells a story. The podcast reaches people who never make it onto a programme: listeners in Lagos, Accra, London, and Atlanta who just needed someone to say the quiet parts out loud.
We are not trying to produce unicorns. We are trying to produce young people who know what they are for, and can prove it.
How the work runs
Four programmes. One through-line.
ATTP Conversations
Long-form conversations with young Africans navigating identity, purpose, faith, and ambition. 57 episodes. Listeners in 64 countries. Hosted by Akintunde Idowu from Lagos.
Teen Innovators Challenge
An open competition for young Nigerians to submit real ideas and proposals. Two challenges completed, 2024 and 2025. The strongest performers at TIC are prioritised for TIA.
Teen Innovators Accelerator
A cohort programme for young Nigerians selected from TIC. Cohort One ran 13 weeks, January to April 2026. From 2027, TIA moves to an intensive six-week format with morning and afternoon sessions daily. Structured sessions, mentors, and a demo day where the work is judged by real professionals.
ATTP Fellowship
A structured cohort for young Nigerians aged 20 to 35, moving from identity and values into practical life skills, career strategy, and civic responsibility. Fellowship is free to attend. It is the bridge between the teen programmes and the broader community of purpose-driven young adults.
Launchpad Briefs
Curated briefs across 38 sectors, drawn from real Nigerian problems. No guaranteed prize, but the experience, certificate, and portfolio are real. Open to all.
The journey
How we got here.
- 2020
The podcast begins
ATTP Conversations launches on Christmas Day 2020 in Bariga, Lagos. A single microphone, an audience of fewer than ten, and a conviction that honest conversation about identity and purpose could change the trajectory of a young person's life.
- 2022
School outreach begins
ATTP takes the conversation into Lagos schools. A session at Bishop Howells Grammar School on purpose and starting with God early, the first time the work moves from a microphone into a room of young people who did not come looking for it.
- 2024
Teen Innovators Challenge — first run
The first TIC opens to young Nigerians. 85 applications. Real briefs, real submissions, real feedback. The challenge surfaces ideas and builders ATTP did not know existed.
- 2025
Teen Innovators Challenge — second run
TIC runs for the second time with 22 team entries from 18 schools and community groups across Lagos. The brief structure sharpens. The pool of talent that will seed the Accelerator grows.
- 2026
Teen Innovators Accelerator and Launchpad launch
TIA Cohort One runs January to April 2026: 13 weeks, real mentors, a public demo day. The Launchpad platform launches with briefs across 38 sectors, opening the work to any young African, not just cohort members.
