About ATTP

ATTP is a youth development organisation that helps young Africans turn promising ideas into useful projects, careers and ventures through practical programmes, mentorship and access to opportunities.

A Talented Tribe with Purpose.
We find promising young people, give them serious work, surround them with the right people, and help them build something that proves what they can do.
Our programmes serve different stages of the journey. TIC is for young innovators aged 13 to 22. TIA develops selected builders through structured support. Launchpad, mentorship and the alumni community help participants continue into projects, careers and enterprise.
ATTP began in Lagos in 2020 as a podcast. It has since grown into a connected pathway of conversations, challenges, mentorship, project development and continued support.

Our aims and objectives.
These objectives guide programme design, partnerships and the outcomes we measure. Individual programmes have their own age criteria and safeguarding arrangements.

Make learning practical
Give young people real problems to investigate and solve, building critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication and entrepreneurial capability.

Reduce financial, geographic and social barriers to participation through free or subsidised programmes, access support, digital resources and community outreach.

Connect participants with mentors, professionals and leaders who can provide structured guidance, useful feedback and responsible access to opportunity.

Our values.
The standard is not activity for its own sake. The standard is useful work, responsible relationships and outcomes that can be seen.
Agency
Young people are active participants in their development. We listen, set clear expectations and give them room to make decisions.
Purpose
We encourage every participant to connect what they build with who it serves and why it matters.
Practical work
Learning should lead to something visible: a tested idea, a project, a portfolio, a clearer decision or a useful contribution.
Access
A young person's starting point should not decide whether they can participate. We work to remove avoidable barriers.
Integrity
We are honest about our results, careful with resources and clear with participants, families, volunteers and partners.
Community
Progress lasts longer when young people have peers, mentors and institutions that continue to support responsible growth.
Faith
ATTP is faith-rooted and open to people from every background. We approach the work with humility, service and respect for human dignity.
Evidence
We measure participation, learning, projects and longer-term outcomes so that decisions are based on what is actually happening.
Our commitments
What people should be able to expect from ATTP.
- TIC remains free for participants.
- Programmes involving minors have clear safeguarding and consent requirements.
- Partner involvement is appropriate, transparent and in the participant's interest.
- Public claims are supported by records and corrected when necessary.
- Participant information is handled with care and never traded for access.
- We design for continuation, not only for the final event or photograph.
Where this came from
It began with a conversation.
ATTP started on Christmas Day 2020 as a podcast recorded in Lagos. The early conversations explored identity, faith, purpose and the decisions that shape a young life.
The questions raised by the podcast needed practical answers. That led to school outreach, the Teen Innovators Challenge, the Teen Innovators Accelerator, Launchpad and a growing community of participants, mentors and volunteers.
The work has changed in form, but the central idea remains the same: talent grows when it is taken seriously, challenged well and supported over time.
Founded by
Akintunde Idowu.
Akintunde founded ATTP in Lagos and hosts ATTP Conversations. He convenes the organisation's programmes and works with the team, mentors and partners building the pathway around young people.
