Our Commitment
ATTP is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all participants, volunteers, staff, and partners. We will not discriminate against any person on any ground, and we will actively work to make our programmes, opportunities, and environment accessible and equitable. This commitment is grounded in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (section 42), the ILO Conventions on Discrimination in Employment and Occupation (No. 111) and Equal Remuneration (No. 100), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Who This Policy Protects
ATTP will not discriminate against any person on the basis of:
(a) Age, within the programme age ranges specified for each programme. (b) Gender, gender identity, or gender expression. (c) Disability, whether physical, sensory, cognitive, or mental health related. (d) Ethnic origin, tribal affiliation, or national origin. (e) Religion, faith, or belief, including no belief. (f) Socioeconomic background or family income. (g) School attended or geographic location within Nigeria. (h) Pregnancy or parental status. (i) Any other characteristic unrelated to a person's ability to participate in or contribute to ATTP's programmes.
Programme Participation
All ATTP programmes are open to eligible applicants on equal terms. Where a programme has age, residency, or other eligibility criteria, those criteria will be applied consistently and transparently. Selection decisions will be based solely on merit, potential, and programme-specific criteria, as set out in the relevant programme prospectus.
ATTP will not allow personal connections, school prestige, socioeconomic status, or cultural familiarity to influence selection decisions beyond the criteria stated. All shortlisting and selection processes must be documented and, where challenged, must be capable of explanation.
ATTP is committed to representing the diversity of Nigerian youth within its programmes, and will proactively work to ensure that participants from underrepresented states, schools, and communities are reached and encouraged to apply.
Volunteer and Staff Recruitment
All volunteer and staff roles at ATTP will be advertised openly and filled on the basis of skills, suitability, and commitment. Application processes will be accessible, and ATTP will provide reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities on request.
No role will be offered, withheld, or terminated on the basis of any of the characteristics listed in section 2. References and assessments will be applied consistently.
Reasonable Adjustments
ATTP will make reasonable adjustments to its processes, facilities, and communications to ensure that participants, volunteers, and staff with disabilities or particular needs can participate fully. Requests for adjustments should be made to info@attpglobal.com. ATTP commits to responding to all adjustment requests within five working days.
Complaints
Any participant, volunteer, staff member, or applicant who believes they have been treated in a manner inconsistent with this policy may:
(a) Raise the matter informally with a member of the ATTP team. (b) Submit a written complaint to info@attpglobal.com. (c) Use the Speak-Up form at attpglobal.com/speak-up if they prefer to report anonymously.
ATTP will investigate all complaints under this policy promptly and fairly, and will respond in writing within 14 working days of the complaint being logged. No person who raises a concern under this policy will be penalised or treated less favourably as a result of doing so.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Founder holds overall responsibility for ensuring ATTP's programmes and processes comply with this policy. All staff and volunteers share responsibility for treating every individual with fairness and respect.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in the law, ATTP's programmes, or best practice guidance from the ILO, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination, and applicable Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
