Elon Musk has built companies in electric vehicles, space, brain-computer interfaces, and underground infrastructure. What is consistent across all of them is not a specific domain or technical skill — it is a way of thinking. Musk identifies problems that most people consider either too large, too expensive, or too impossible to attempt. He then breaks them down using first principles: stripping them to the fundamental physics, economics, or engineering constraints, and reasoning back up from there to see what is actually possible, as opposed to what the current industry assumes is possible. The lesson for a builder anywhere — including in Lagos — is not to copy Musk's specific ventures. It is to develop the habit of asking: what would this problem look like if I refused to accept the current constraints as permanent?
