Build Your Own Study System

1 of 6

The best study system is not the one in this book. It is the one you will actually use, consistently, over a long period of time. Every technique in this book is evidence-based and works — but only if it becomes a habit. The mistake most students make is learning about better study methods and trying to implement all of them at once. Within two weeks, the effort of maintaining an entirely new system collapses and they return to their old habits. A better approach is to start with one change, run it consistently for three to four weeks until it becomes automatic, then add one more. A system built slowly and maintained is worth far more than a perfect system attempted for ten days and abandoned.
