Ephesians 6:18 says: pray in the Spirit on all occasions. The word pray in the original language implies active, sustained effort — not passive waiting. Prayer is where the inner life is maintained. It is where ambition gets tested, where ego gets corrected, where the difference between what you want and what is actually right gets clearer. The builder who does not pray eventually operates entirely on their own assessment of themselves. That is a dangerous place to build from.
