Serve Others to Lead Them

1 of 6

There is a kind of leader who defines success as personal achievement: the promotions earned, the recognition received, the status accumulated. And there is another kind who defines success differently: by whether the people around them grew, by whether the team achieved more because of their involvement, by whether they left people better than they found them. The second kind of leader builds something that lasts. They develop other leaders. They create organisations that are not dependent on any one person. They earn loyalty that money cannot buy. Adding value to others is not weakness. It is the most strategic thing a leader can do — because the people you develop are the people who will carry the mission forward.
