Your Mission Statement

1 of 4

A mission statement is not a tagline or a vision paragraph. It is one precise sentence that answers: who do you serve, what do you do for them, and why does it matter? Every conversation you have with a potential donor, partner, or volunteer will go better with a clear mission statement than without one. Without it, you default to describing activities — we run workshops, we distribute food, we train teachers. With it, you communicate transformation — we equip first-generation university students in Lagos with the skills to become financially independent. The first version tells people what you do. The second tells them what the world looks like because you do it. That difference is everything.
