The Root: Godliness
1 of 4
1 Timothy 4:7 says: train yourself for godliness. That word — train — is an athletic word. It implies effort, repetition, and discomfort before gain. Godliness is not the result of trying harder in the moment. It is the result of training consistently over time. Every other discipline in this course connects back to this one: if godliness is not the goal, the other disciplines become self-improvement without a foundation.
